PS5: Missing information annoys the fans, wrongly!

Playfront

PlayStation fans are increasingly annoyed that Sony is so reluctant to release new information about the PS5. Especially after Microsoft came around the corner on Monday with a new swing of information about the Xbox Series X, the impatience is growing. But wrongly.

Real frustration posts are currently opening up online, in which Sony is being pushed to finally comment on the PS5. Some even consider the reluctance to be a disadvantage for the PS5, as Microsoft has presented quite a bit from the hardware perspective. Some say, for example, that it would symbolically “kill them” and that they would “need the hype” to be able to look forward to the next generation.

So far, it has only been said of Sony that the procedure for unveiling the PS5 will be similar to that of the PS4. Whether this now necessarily includes the exact same schedule can now be denied.

Frustration arises unfairly

However, one has to say that this waiting can be annoying at times, but sometimes it is also somewhat unfounded. On the one hand, the first information about the PS5 was spread far earlier than was the case with the PS4. The core features of the PS5 were already mentioned last year and what vision Sony is pursuing with the next generation.

Although there are still no final specifications for the hardware, the Xbox Series X does not look much different, for which Microsoft basically only explains its intentions without being able to say exactly whether it can be fulfilled. The Redmond company only enjoys a real advantage in that the design of the console has already been determined. With this, Sony had also taken a lot of time with the PS4, which is why there is absolutely no panic on this point.

All in all, a lot more is known about the PS5 at the moment, so Sony had only revealed it at the PS4 Reveal event at the time, provided real game presentations are left out. But Microsoft doesn't have that yet.

It remains to be seen whether Sony's current reluctance will be a disadvantage for the PS5 or can also be an advantage. After all, you can respond to any announcement from Microsoft more skillfully, such as with the price of the PS4 at the time.
