Legends of Runeterra: 0.9.1 patch notes; changes and news

Riot Games focuses on animations and adds new guardians and boards, as well as correcting some version errors.

The new update of Legends of Runeterra is small and does not introduce card updates, but the 0.9.1 patch does include some interesting changes. The new Riot Games, a card game that goes on to compete against other market titles such as Hearthstone, GWENT or Magic: The Gathering Arena, details the new boards and guardians, as well as the improvements in the quality of life of the product.

One of the complaints that the developers have collected in the feedback refers to the animations, which take too long. According to the study, they are working on finding the most appropriate rhythm of the game, although they recognize that it will still take time to achieve the key. Riot's intention is that interactions "be clear moments" that make players feel "good," but animations should not contribute to impatience. "We will continue working until we find the ideal balance."

Riot Games has announced that they will play some small animations first: steal, invoke, take turns and start a new round. "It's not that they are the most striking animations, but, by making small changes, you will notice the difference in the course of a game." The company asks for more feedback and admits that they are aware that some specific animations are "particularly slow."

New guardian now available

  • Subject

New boards already available

  • Jinx
  • Garen

Improvements to the guardians

  • Lengthen and Dientetriste make less noise in static position.
  • The tail of Basilisco and the legs of Gromp junior no longer cross certain tabler

Rhythm of play and sensations

They have increased the speed of the animations, reduced the margin of blockade of actions and eliminated buffer of effects so that the capacity of answer is greater in many cases, like:

  • Summon units
  • Draw cards.
  • Drag units to attack.
  • Play fast and slow spells.
  • Play spell bursts.

Change of the initiative form at the beginning of the rounds

In the previous version, they made a change to the EXP of the friendly challenges that aimed to reduce the exchange of victories with constant surrender, but say that some players who enjoyed the title as friends on a regular basis were overwhelmed. Therefore, they will increase “the amount of EXP that is obtained both in the victories and in the defeats of the friendly challenges”, but they also plan to “make more systemic changes in a future version of the beta”

  • EXP for victory: 100 → 200.
  • EXP per defeat: 0 → 100.
  • Obtaining EXP limited to five wins (no changes) and five losses per day

Error correction

  • Now, when you repeatedly mouse over the region rewards, the shadows will no longer take over the screen. Spooky!
  • Now silencing rival AI will make your emoticons hide properly.
  • Flame Bearer and Harrowing will no longer resurrect champions who have only cast their unique spell (instead of a champion in play and eliminated, as is due).
  • Now the champions will level up properly if, after fulfilling their level-up condition while under the effects of Arrest, they return to the game.
  • Twin Disciplines now displays the correct effect text when selecting Strength Discipline.
  • Players should no longer get stuck on the loading screen when logging out of League of Legends if they are signed in to LoR (correction already reported in the previous version but not incorporated into the game).
  • Players who log in to LoR from different devices should suffer fewer closures (correction already reported in the previous version but not incorporated into the game).
