Kojima believes the press will need time to "digest" Death Stranding

The Japanese creative sets an example to North American society, very accustomed to shooters.

Death Stranding is not a game for everyone. That phrase has been read in forums and media, to the point of acquiring a certain parodic tone. What's new about Hideo Kojima and Kojima Productions is, of course, a different project. The New York Times has published a profile of the creative, in which Kojima returns to influence something that he had previously said: that Americans are accustomed to shooters and that he hopes that in a few years his game will be seen differently .

"In the United States, they are used to shooters, so they don't digest it," says the creative in the New York newspaper. “Okay, everyone can evaluate the game however they want. In three or five years we will see what people say. ” The game was received by the press with varied opinions, something that has also happened in other countries besides North America.

A very particular game

Social Strand System is the name that Hideo Kojima gave to the new genre that has opened with Death Stranding. Its multiplayer features allow players to leave a trace of their actions in the world, something that can be used to help other users. The construction of bridges, the arrangement of roads and other structures facilitates the road to Sam Porter Bridges, the main protagonist of the video game.

Touring the vast territories of North America was never easy, but in the United States of Death Stranding, the difficulties are even greater. The world of the living and the dead melts, to the point that stranded entities wander in the rain, waiting for some being that still transits the paths of life to approach. The water that falls from the sky burns like acid, breaks down the skin and opens wounds, a sign that something is very wrong in the world.

In that context, Sam Bridges distributes merchandise between the different zones, although his task goes beyond being a simple messenger. He carries the responsibility of saving the world on his shoulders, an objective he approaches every time he makes a successful delivery. The objective is to unite the United States under a new political structure that spreads the new society.

Death Stranding is available on PlayStation 4 since last November. The PC version will be released on June 2, with 505 Games, with news such as Photo Mode.
