The veteran franchise, which was born on the first PlayStation, had a small rebirth on PSP, Sony's laptop.

Parasite Eve is a horror RPG that was created on PlayStation, a Square Enix project that was attended by Hironobu Sakaguchi, creator of the Final Fantasy franchise. However, since the delivery of PSP in 2010, The 3rd Birthday, the saga has not returned from its fallow. However, to the producer of Final Fantasy VII Remake, Yoshinori Kitase, it would seem like a "waste" that the Japanese company will not resume the franchise in the future.

This was stated in an interview with the Japanese fighter Kenny Omega, which has been published on the official Square Enix channel on YouTube. Omega asked him if they planned to retake the story of Aya Brea in the future, something Kitase has not known to answer with certainty, although he has revealed his point of view about it: “The characters are very deep and rich, especially Aya Brea ”, Said Kitase. "I don't know if there are plans right now, but it would be a waste not to use those characters." The fighter has made it clear that Parasite Eve was "very original and unique," while recalling the popularity of the survival horror today.

Parasite Eve emerged from the pen of the writer Hideaki Sena, who wrote this science fiction and horror novel, although the Square Enix game (then still Squaresoft) is a direct sequel to this story. The game, published in 1998, was accompanied by a film and manga adaptation. Later, in 1999, Parasite Eve 2 saw the light. It would be more than 10 years before Aya Brea returned, in a title that didn't exactly follow the playable line of the originals. This is The 3rd Birthday, edited on PSP.

A classic that does come back

The one that will return will be Final Fantasy VII Remake, a project that has been made to beg, but that is just around the corner. The story of Cloud, Barret, Tifa, Aeris, Red XIII and the rest of the heroes and villains will take place in Midgar, a city consumed by the actions of Shinra, the Machiavellian company that aims to suck the vital energy of the planet.

The game was scheduled for March 3, but the Japanese company decided to delay its release until April 10. The reason? They needed a little more time to fully polish the playable experience. Final Fantasy VII Remake will be marketed on PlayStation 4, although the exclusive is only temporary and will last one year. At the moment the plans have not been announced beyond that date. The only certainty is that the development of the second chapter will start in April 2020.
