GeForce Now: Nvidia withdraws all 2K Games games

Nvidia adds a new drop to its streaming service. All games with the 2K Games seal have been removed, although they work to return them in the future.

Nvidia adds another new drop in its GeForce Now cloud service. As indicated by the company in its official forums, “at the request of the editor” all 2K Games games have been removed from the platform.

Franchises such as Mafia, Borderlands, Bioshock, Civilization and more have already been disabled. According to Nvidia, they are in talks with 2K Games to return their products to GeForce Now, although at the moment there is nothing concrete.

This news follows the trail of casualties that we have known during the month of February. Activision and Bethesda have already done the same with their catalog (in the case of the latter, except Wolfenstein: Youngblood).

Reasons

The great publishers have not been the only ones to take action. On March 2, Raphael Van Lierop, creator of The Long Dark, criticized the manufacturer for not asking permission for distribution in GeForce Now. “I'm sorry for those who are disappointed, but you can't keep playing The Long Dark in GeForce Now. Nvidia has not asked us for permission to put the game on the platform, so we have asked to remove it. Please, make your complaints to them, not to us. Developers must control where their games appear. ”

In its beginnings, Nvidia described the discharge of Activision as a "misunderstanding." Having been in the service beta, they thought it would be maintained by launching the trial period, but it was not the case. "After recognizing the misunderstanding, we eliminated their games from the service in the hope of being able to include these and others in the future," they commented.

GeForce Now is now available in several plans. There is a free one for just one hour of play; At the end, the session closes and forces you to enter all the required data again. On the other hand, the "Founders" subscription costs € 5.49 per month and includes a free 90-day trial.
