Epic Games shows its support for GeForce Now: "We will improve integration"

Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney launches a plea in favor of GeForce Now. According to him, they will improve the integration of the Epic Games Store with the service.

It has not been easy weeks for Nvidia and its streaming gaming platform. The manufacturer has suffered the loss of support from several of the most important publishers in the industry. Therefore, Tim Sweeney, CEO of Epic Games, has expressed the company's position through Twitter.

"Epic enthusiastically supports the service of Nvidia, GeForce Now, with Fortnite and the Epic Games Store titles they choose to participate (including exclusive)," he says. "We will improve integration over time."

Tim Sweeney goes further by ensuring that GeForce Now is the "friendliest platform for developers and publishers" among all streaming services. "Companies that want to take the video game industry to a healthier place for everyone should support this type of service," he concludes.

Background

During its beta phase, Nvidia had almost the full spectrum of producers at its disposal. However, upon leaving it and integrating its subscription model, names like Activision and Bethesda backed down their presence. Recently 2K Games did the same.

In the case of Activision, it was the person responsible after the service who came to the fore to clarify that it was "a misunderstanding." "Activision Blizzard has been a fantastic partner during the GeForce Now beta," they said in an official statement. The elimination of these games was carried out with the hope of “being able to include these and others in the future”.

The most critical voice came from the hand of Raphael Van Lierop, creator of The Long Dark. “I'm sorry for those who are disappointed, but you can't keep playing The Long Dark in GeForce Now. Nvidia has not asked us for permission to put the game on the platform, so we have asked to remove it. Please, make your complaints to them, not to us. Developers must control where their games appear, ”he said.
