Hardly as the new head of PlayStation World Wide Studios in office, today there is a detailed interview with SWWS Head Hermen Hulst, who previously headed the Killzone developer Guerilla Games.

In addition to upcoming blockbusters on PS4, such as The Last of Us: Part II and Ghost of Tsushima, Sony World Wide Studios will also focus on high-quality exclusive titles on the PS5 and in the future, but is also open to new ideas.

“We focus on dedicated hardware like we did before. We will continue to do so. And we focus on high quality exclusive titles. And story-based games for single players. At the same time, we are very open to experiments and new ideas. We just try things out to see what works. That is also a very important part of Worldwide Studios. ”

New ideas include the release of PlayStation exclusive games on PC, such as Horizon Zero Dawn, which will be released outside of PlayStation this summer. According to Hulst, other titles do not have to follow inevitably or across the board.

“I think it’s important that we’re open to new ideas about how we can introduce PlayStation to more people and maybe show them what they’ve missed so far. And maybe to calm down a few minds: The release of a first premium title as a PC version does not necessarily mean that every game is now being released for the PC. In my opinion, Horizon Zero Dawn was just great in this particular case. We have not yet scheduled any appointments [for PC versions] and we continue to focus 100% on dedicated hardware. ”

The full interview with Herman Hulst is available on the official PlayStation blog.
