Metacritic has published its annual report with the best video game publishers of the year based on the average score of its publications. The popular aggregator portal, which records hundreds of titles every year, concludes that 505 Games was the best editor of the year 2019. With Control and Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night as great highlights, the Italian firm of Digital Bros occupies the highest position with an 80 over 100 on average and 306.7 points.

The methodology for preparing the ranking has not only been the numerical rating of computer games. As they explain, there must be at least 4 different games published by each editor, all of them published in the calendar year of 2019 and all of them with a relation of number of critics next to their note. In this way, points and ranges have been established to guarantee a sample with fair conclusions for the total publishers.

Apart from 505 Games, Activision Blizzard and Nintendo occupy the rest of the podium positions with 301.4 and 299.2 points, respectively. Those responsible for Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, the Overwatch port for Nintendo Switch and the expansion of Heartstone have closed 2019 with a 79.9 average; while those in Kyoto did the same with an average of 80. To highlight in its catalog, Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Super Mario Maker 2.
