Cancellation of E3 2020: the PC Gaming Show is also looking for online alternatives

The organization issues a statement confirming that like some companies, they will try to hold an alternative event.

E3 2020 will not take place. The ESA (Entertainment Software Association) made its decision official after several sources reported on it. The Wuhan coronavirus epidemic (COVID-19) has set off alarms, which is why health authorities do not recommend mass meetings. Companies like Microsoft or Ubisoft have already reported that they are exploring new means of communication, a path that the PC Gaming Show will also follow, as announced by PC Gamer, the event's master of ceremonies (with the participation of Epic Games), in a published statement on their website.

Given the cancellation of E3 2020, they are investigating multiple possibilities for this year's edition. "It is encouraging to see that Microsoft and Ubisoft appear to be exploring how to set up similar conferences in the absence of a physical fair in Los Angeles." PC Gamer stresses that the work of its conference is to offer new information on the platform, which is why they contemplate a roadmap that will be released in the coming weeks.

Great games in the near future

They remember that despite there being no E3 this year, the platform is experiencing a sweet moment, as games like Doom Eternal, Half-Life: Alyx or Mount & Blade are on the horizon. "We still want there to be a space for developers of all sizes to announce great new projects, and of course, the PC Gaming Show will try to make room for small studios whose passionate projects are key to the success of PC gaming."

"In the five years we have produced the PC Gaming Show during E3 week alongside our many partners, the objects have been met: to be an event that celebrates the spirit of our favorite hobby." The conference, which has been held since 2015, is exclusively focused on the compatible player. As confirmed, they will continue to support the video game on PC at least once a year with this type of proposal.
