Horizon: Zero Dawn (PC) shows its first image: it will have ultra-panoramic resolution

The title of Guerrilla Games will be released on computer after passing through PS4 three years ago. It will have technical improvements for better graphic performance.

The confirmation of Horizon: Zero Dawn – Complete Edition for PC this coming summer has been one of the most important novelties in the PlayStation universe in recent weeks because it will be the first time in history that an internal production of Sony PlayStation has seen the light through a computer sales portal such as Steam. Now we can see its first image and it also confirms that it will have ultra-wide resolution (ultrawide), beyond today's standardized 16: 9, and achievements.

The ultra-wide or 2: 1 format usually has a 21: 9 aspect ratio, which increases the width compared to the height more sharply than the standards of the last two decades. With a more notable presence in the PC world, from PlayStation Mobile – publisher of the game – they have opted for this possibility in Horizon: Zero Dawn, which will allow us to glimpse all that artistic power in the best conditions and with greater visual coverage than in the version original PlayStation 4 released in 2017.

This version of Horizon: Zero Dawn will arrive with all the additions of the full version; that is, the included DLC, The Frozen Wilds. Its launch is expected this summer and is a precedent never seen, although that does not mean that it will be repeated in the future.

Sony has stated that this is a special circumstance and valued on an individual basis (presumably for the facilities of adapting the Decima Engine to PC after doing the same with Death Stranding). The Japanese firm has made it clear in the voice of Hermen Hulst, director of Sony Worldwide Studios, that they will continue to bet on "exclusive quality games" on PlayStation consoles, where PS5 appears from the horizon, and single players focused on narrative.

In case there is any doubt, Hulst himself has reflected on the reason for this decision to bring Aloy's adventure to the computer and has publicly responded to those who have complained or criticized the decision.

All in all, Guerrilla Games is already looking for creatives for its next video game.
