TFT (TeamFight Tactics) - Patch Notes 10.6; all changes and news

Riot Games adds a whole new set, plus balance changes, new champions, and quality of life improvements.

The Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) has not stopped the release of patch 10.6 of TFT, also known as TeamFight Tactics or Master Tactics in Spanish. The new update introduces a new set (Galaxies) within an unprecedented qualifying season, plus champions debuting alongside new items and traits. They also include mini-legends and arenas never seen before. Riot Games, which devises a strategy to reinforce multiplayer experiences, unveils changes to its systems, such as login and item system.

TeamFight Tactics, patch 1.06

Qualifiers

  • The Galaxies qualifying season will start immediately with the release of this version.
  • There will no longer be a decline due to inactivity of qualifiers in ranks below Master.
  • You cannot descend due to inactivity if you are already in Master. We hope you keep trying to be among the best, but we don't want TFT to feel like a daily obligation with a big penalty included.

System

Galaxy Mechanics

  • The Galaxy mechanics will be released with version 10.7.

  • Passive income per round (starting in round 1-2): 3 – 5 – 4 – 5 – 5 – 5 … ⇒2 – 2 – 3 – 4 – 5 – 5 – 5.

  • Reduced bonus damage for each surviving unit to 1 (previously calculated based on star level and unit gold cost, from 1 to 8).

Loot / Item Appearances

  • Champions are now more likely to appear than just gold in all boxes.
  • Medium Gold and Champion Boxes will not appear during the first two rounds.
  • Neeko's Power is around 35% less likely to appear in all boxes.

Movement

  • Movement speed of all champions: 550⇒500

  • Components may continue to appear from the sixth carousel.

  • All champions in the game harness Spell Power in a certain way. Spell Power can empower other items in addition to damage / healing / shield abilities. See the description of each champion for more details.
  • The art style of the store cards changed to more closely match the pattern of the game.
  • Item Combination Rules: When units are combined, items are placed in the combined unit with this priority: 1) Thief's Gloves 2) Random Complete Items 3) Random Components.
  • Bug fix: 3-star champions are now bigger again than 2-star champions.
  • Bug Fix: We fixed issues for quite some time regarding units with high attack speed whose basic attacks sometimes visually disappeared in midair.
  • Bug Fix: Fixed a bug where a large increase in attack speed during combat could cause unit animations to visually out of sync with their actual attack speed
