12 new video game Hall of Fame candidates: Uncharted 2 and more

Super Smash Bros. Melee, the Naughty Dog and Minecraft game are running as contenders to enter the world-renowned space.

As every year, the World Video Game Hall of Fame has presented new applicants to be part of this select group of most influential video games of all time. Close to fifty years of history with a few dozen works capable of transcending generations. For this 2020 selection we have twelve new postulates; Highlights include Super Smash Bros. Melee, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Minecraft.

How to vote for your favorite: dates and conditions

To cast a vote it is necessary to access the official website of the World Video Game Hall of Fame and select our favorite; You can only vote for one of the list that we leave below. The deadlines to vote are from the current date until April 2, when the voting will be terminated and the winners will be chosen.

Yes, in the plural. Although we only vote for one video game, the World Video Game Hall of Fame will contemplate a total of six new titles starting this April: three of them chosen by the public (the three most voted games) and three chosen by the International Selection Advisory Committee, a membership committee.

Thus, the six games that will join the Video Game Hall of Fame will be present in the royal hall, located in The Strong Museum in Rochester, New York, United States.
