Blockbusters based on superheroes have become one of Hollywood's great veins in recent years, with films that make huge amounts of money at the box office level and that generate a whole universe of merchandising and anticipation for the following productions, something that Marvel Studios and Disney have carried out like never before through their so-called UCM and that even now it will spread to the small screen with their own series connected. Although other companies such as DC along with Warner Bros. or Sony in collaboration with Marvel do not want to be left behind and continue to bet on their own comic adaptations. Therefore, below we compile the main premieres of the 2020 superhero genre, from upcoming movies in theaters to new premiere series on streaming platforms.
2020 superhero movies
Let's see next what movies and series based on superhero comics will be released throughout this year, a market totally dominated by Marvel (either through Disney or Sony) and DC together with Warner Bros., as well as a new adaptation from the Valiant Comics universe.
Birds of Prey (and Harley Quinn's Fantastic Emancipation)

Black widow
And we arrive at the first major premiere of Marvel Studios in 2020 with Black Widow (Black Widow), the solo adventure of the superhero of the Avengers that will start the long-awaited Phase 4 of the UCM and will take us to know several stages of his life before his fatal ending in Avengers Endgame, all to learn more about the past of Natasha Romanoff, played once again by actress Scarlett Johansson. Wonder Woman 1984
After Birds of Prey, DC and Warner Bros. return to theaters around the world with Wonder Woman 1984, their most anticipated film of the year, sequel to the hit Wonder Woman. Thus, Gal Gadot returns as Wonder Woman after the crossovers Batman v Superman and Justice League and her solo film with a film that, as her title suggests, will take us to the 80s. On this occasion, Diana Prince befriends with Barbara Ann Minerva, an archeologist who works for Max Lord, played by actor Pedro Pascal, a millionaire who searches among artifacts from the past how to become a God. Morbius

The New Mutants
With a production of the most bumpy and full of delays, finally The New Mutants of Marvel and Fox hits theaters; or so we hope after the last delay due to the coronavirus crisis. And it is that after the acquisition of Fox rights by Disney, The New Mutants was in limbo before the uncertainty of its production. This time we are dealing with the adaptation of the Marvel comics of the same name, a group of teenagers with different powers who remain confined in what appears to be a psychiatric hospital. Although soon phenomena as strange as dangerous begin to occur that will push the protagonists themselves to the limit. With a film halfway between superhero and horror cinema, it remains to be seen if The New Mutants will finally become part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe after the changes and reshoots by Disney or will remain as an independent film with references to the mutants that are about to arrive at the UCM soon. After a new delay (it was scheduled for April 3), the film does not have a release date for now, although it is expected in 2020.

Stargirl

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier
This summer the first series of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will finally arrive at Disney + with The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, the solo adventures of the new Captain America, now Sam Wilson or Falcon, after the events of Avengers Endgame, along with Bucky Barnes, also known as Winter Soldier. For now little is known about the plot of a series that will have six episodes and that will face both superheroes to the U.S. Agent, the bet of the American government to restore the figure of the Cap, with the mysterious return of Baron Zemo.
WandaVision
With its premiere scheduled for December on Disney +, WandaVision will be the last series of newly minted superheroes scheduled for this 2020. In this case we are facing six chapters, three of them as a US sitcom from various periods and in which Wanda will unleash alternative realities alongside Vision, all after the events of Avengers Endgame; on the other hand, the last three chapters will acquire a darker tone as a prequel to the movie Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, in which the presence of Wanda Maximoff has already been confirmed, most likely, as Scarlet Witch.
