Production is proceeding as planned and will be marketed on schedule, although the coronavirus situation will affect physical copies.

It is less than a month before Final Fantasy VII Remake goes on sale, so Square Enix continues with its well-oiled promotion machine, as demonstrated by the latest captures and details shared by the company. The reimagined version of this classic has a renewed graphic section, but also new features that affect gameplay and content. One of the unprecedented aspects will be the new floor that we will find in the mythical Shinra building. This has been confirmed by Naoki Hamaguchi, co-director of the video game, on the official website of Square Enix.

"I will not reveal exactly what that means, because I want people to enjoy it when they play," says Hamaguchi. "I will say that (Final Fantasy VII Remake) has added a new floor in the Shinra building to present a climax that was not present in the original."

In addition, Yoshinori Kitase, producer of the game, has recalled that in the original game there were many cuts in which the screen turned black and the game continued in different locations. “In other words, there were many parts between the Midgar sections that were hinted at but never seen. This is something we wanted to do with the remake ”, fill in the gaps and show how the different parts of the city were connected.

Will not be delayed by COVID-19

Final Fantasy VII Remake will be available on April 10 for PlayStation 4. Given the circumstances, with the world dotted by the coronavirus crisis (COVID-19), Square Enix has sent several statements in which it explained the situation of the launch. Although the Japanese have decided not to postpone the release date, they have confirmed that they cannot ensure the arrival of the physical copies at the players' homes.

It is not for hands. In some countries such as Spain, Italy or the United Kingdom, commercial activity is practically stopped. Except for essential stores such as supermarkets or pharmacies, all other stores must remain closed, which includes, of course, video game stores. GameStop, one of the largest chain stores in the United States, classified itself as a necessity company, warning that in its confinement, many citizens would require its services. For this reason, at first they refused to close their doors, although they have withdrawn their initial position.
