The game was announced at E3 2012, but the purchase of Disney and the closure of Lucas Arts definitively cut short its development.

In October 2012, Disney announced the purchase of Lucasfilm, George Lucas' studio. The Star Wars saga became part of the Mickey Mouse empire. At the time, Lucas Arts, the video game division, had released Star Wars 1313, an action video game starring Boba Fett. However, the company made the decision to close that department, so the title was left in limbo and was canceled. 7 years after that moment, a new capture of the work has been leaked.

In the image you can see the figure of the bounty hunter, who is located in the center, with a background that looks like Coruscant, the center of power of The Republic and later of the Galactic Empire led by Emperor Palpatine, better known as Darth Sidious. The game raised the possibility of playing Boba Fett across the galaxy. The objective? Find and complete jobs, all seasoned by mechanics that were partly reminiscent of Uncharted, as shown in the E3 2012 demo.

Star Wars, in the hands of Electronic Arts

After the Lucasfilm acquisition, Disney decided to assign the rights to Electronic Arts. The entertainment giant has not had it easy, as several titles were canceled along the way. Also, the premiere of Star Wars Battlefront 2 was not the desired one, as the loot box controversy hit hard on both the game and the company. That said, neither EA nor DICE have stopped supporting the project over the years. The triumph, however, has come from the hand of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, the action-adventure game from Respawn Enteratainment, which went on sale last November.

The future of Star Wars in video games goes through the sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (not officially announced, but revealed by Kotaku) and Star Wars: Project Maverick, by EA Motive, which was leaked on PlayStation Network weeks ago.
