Animal Crossing New Horizons: Players Celebrate Virtual Weddings in Quarantine

Many ceremonies have been canceled due to the coronavirus, but some users are attending parties in the game.

The coronavirus (COVID-19) has cut short the plans of thousands of citizens, who in many cases remain in confinement to prevent the virus from spreading. If days ago we saw how some Japanese children celebrated their graduation ceremony through Minecraft, now it is the turn of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the new production of Nintendo, which has seen the light just in the midst of the global crisis. Several are the players who have celebrated their wedding or birthday party virtually in the video game, as demonstrated by this series of tweets put together by Eurogamer.

“My fiance planned it together with my best friends. I'm going to graduate in medicine and the graduation ceremony and our wedding was canceled. I was down for missing my own ceremonies, but this has made me very happy, I have no words to describe how much it means to me. ” Another person, daughter Alexia Christofi, has had a surprise birthday party: "I could cry," says the mother.

The English Rural museum has closed its doors, like many other public spaces, but the place has come to life thanks to Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Players have designed rural costumes after the museum asked fans to reproduce their pieces in the video game. Next, we offer you a compilation of the different tweets.

Released a new patch

Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been available on Nintendo Switch since March 20. The developer has just released patch 1.1.1, which fixes a bug that allowed duplication of objects. Meanwhile, Nintendo is watching the evolution of the crisis very closely. Not in vain, the director of the project, Aya Kyogoku, has reported the possibility that the update plan will be altered as a result of COVID-19.

Masahiro Sakurai, creator of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, has also stated that development plans have been affected. During the last Nintendo Direct Mini, it was confirmed that the next fighter will come from the ARMS saga, although it was recognized that it would take longer than expected to make an appearance.
