Two of the first superhero movies of the year arrive prematurely in digital format due to the global coronavirus crisis.

Both Birds of Prey (and the fantastic emancipation of Harley Quinn) and Bloodshot, the first two superhero films that have been released in theaters this 2020, arrive today March 27, 2020 in Spain in digital format. Thus, and after a few weeks in theaters, both films (and many others) have brought forward their release in domestic format due to the world coronavirus crisis, as theaters are closed almost everywhere in the world due to the current situation of health emergency.

Tom Rothman, president of the Motion Picture Group at Sony Pictures, stated that “we are facing an extremely exceptional circumstance, in which cinemas have closed their doors due to force majeure. This has meant that, suddenly, Bloodshot is not available anywhere or support. Now, the public will have the possibility to digitally acquire Bloodshot and watch it at home. We are confident that movie theaters – like other businesses hit hard by the virus – will reemerge strongly, and we will be there to support them. ”

Recall that the entire film industry has stopped its activity due to the coronavirus crisis, both productions in full filming and releases scheduled for the coming months.
