Square Enix announces the upgraded version of NieR: Replicant during the brand's 10th anniversary broadcast. It will come to PS4, Xbox One and PC.
The rebroadcast for the tenth anniversary of the NieR saga has paid off. Square Enix confirms the development of an improved version of Nier Replicant, the origin that initially came out exclusively for PlayStation 3 in Japan. Later he would do the same in the West with Nier: Gestalt, a similar version for PS3 and Xbox 360 that changed the protagonist, in addition to other slight changes.
From the Japanese giant they confess that we are not facing a remastering or remake, but prefer to call it "an updated version". Under the nickname of “ver.1.22474487139”, in full development at the moment, it is run by Toylogic, third parties who have worked in support of productions such as The Evil Within or Kid Icarus Uprising, among others. That it is in other hands does not mean that Platinum Games members are supervising it. Personalities like Takahisa Taura, senior game designer at NieR: Automata, finds himself fully in it. Nothing escapes the shadow of Taro, and that is that the version name is the result of the square root of 1.5.

At the moment they have not disclosed too many details about the specific content that will bring. What we do know is that the voices will be recorded again with a new casting, at least for the Japanese dub. The original soundtrack will also follow in its wake of renewal, including new tracks by composer Keiichi Okabe.
Yosuke Saito, a reputable producer and part of the project management at Square Enix, explained that they want to make it "enjoyable for those who have played the original." We will have new characters; on the other hand, they still have not decided whether they will include unpublished endings. PS4, Xbox One and PC through Steam have been the platforms chosen for their future publication.
