The COVID-19 crisis alters launch plans, as many countries have approved restrictions to combat the epidemic.

The companies draw their own strategies to solve the problems that have come from the coronavirus (COVID-19), an epidemic that has impacted the economy and the normal day-to-day functioning of citizens. Square Enix has already warned that physical copies of Final Fantasy VII Remake may not arrive in time, as many countries are struggling to halt the spread of the virus and have taken measures to confine and halt productive activity. In a recent statement, the Japanese have revealed that they will send copies before launch to try to avoid delays.

"We had to make tough decisions in the last few weeks before launch because of the breakdown of distribution channels due to the spread of the COVID-19 virus," the company said in a Twitter statement. This circumstance has made it difficult for them to manage international shipping According to the company, their greatest wish is for all players to be able to access the title from launch day, so they have made the decision to "ship the game earlier than usual to Europe and Australia".

As a result, "there is a high probability that some of you, in those regions, will receive a copy of the game before the global release on April 10." In all other regions, including North America, shipments will take place this week, making Square Enix confident that they will be on time. Still, they claim that given the situation, they cannot provide exact shipping dates in any country. The developers do, however, ask that those who receive the product ahead of time are considered and do not spoil its content to the followers.

An expanded game

Final Fantasy VII Remake is a reimagining of the Squaresoft classic. The new version will be distributed through different installments, although the number of chapters it will have has not yet been announced. What is known is that the first video game will narrate the entire Midgar arc. Thanks to new dialogues and new playable sections, the play will be expanded.

The title, which will be exclusive for one year on PlayStation 4, will go on sale on April 10. It is not the only game affected by the coronavirus. As Capcom announced, the release of Resident Evil 3 Remake could also experience delays in distribution. In this case, they have not revealed, at least not yet, plans to distribute the game in advance.
