Coronavirus: Top 5 Games To Exercise At Home During Quarantine

In full confinement, we collect titles that can make us spend a few hours a day a little more enjoyable and dynamic burning calories.

Coronavirus is something that affects everyone. The confinement has shaken the calendar of the video game sector, with cancellations and delays through, but the entertainment has not only not stopped but has become one of the great allies of millions of people now that we have to stay home. With the desire to help you get a smile in those (too many) dead hours and with the intention that you do not give too many turns to your head, today we collect the 5 best games to exercise at home in times of quarantine.

During these last days, from FreeGameTips we have published a series of articles where we recommend the best free video games for PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch, but it is time to get up from your chair, roll up your sleeves and start burning calories.

For the selection we have mainly adhered to a basic rule: that they are games of the current generation of consoles. We assume that some of you will still have your Wii connected to continue playing tennis and bowling on Wii Sports; Perhaps others still have Wii Fit at hand, but since it will not be the majority, this article revolves around PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. Also, some of the ones we are going to comment on have free trial periods or a demo available.

Goal laces: cardio with video games without leaving home

Beat Saber (PS4, VR)

That game that you can see in a hypnotic state for hours now becomes one of the great wishes in times of quarantine. Available on PlayStation 4 (PS VR) and PC with compatibility with VR devices, we are dealing with one of the most successful and best rated rhythm and puzzle video games that are remembered. The title of Hyperbolic Magnetism (acquired by Facebook) has more and more content, songs from all kinds of successful groups and a formula that seems to be living a peak of popularity in light of the growing implantation of VR devices around the world.

Those who play it define it as an experience, something unforgettable, addictive and, to make matters worse, a form of exercise adaptable to all types of players depending on the level of difficulty. Broadly speaking, blocks are coming to the sound of music that we must cut with the movement of our arms. In the case of the PS VR version, the use of PS Move controls is essential.

ARMS (Nintendo Switch)

ARMS is one of Nintendo's new intellectual properties on Nintendo Switch. We received it in 2017, when the summer began, and the truth is that we found it a very fresh, dynamic and remarkable proposal. Also profound, although there was room for improvement in a variety of modes and content for an eventual sequel. But watch how your arms could stay if you opted for the motion control of the Joy-Con. A command in each hand and … to execute blows left and right. Also, we find it pertinent to include it right now in this list because Nintendo has announced that there is a free trial of the title for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers.

Players of the console's paid membership service can download the full game (not a demo, it's the commercial version) from March 26 to next April 6 at 11:59 p.m. In other words, almost the entire quarantine completely free if we are members of Nintendo Switch Online.

Ring Fit Adventure (Nintendo Switch)

A mass phenomenon in Japan and with sales that continue to grow in the West, Ring Fit Adventure breathes the essence of the already veteran Wii Fit, but with a truly innovative peripheral and surprisingly accurate technology. We already told you about it last year in our Reviews, with a whole Borja Ruete with a heart of one hundred but convinced that it was not only a very encouraging way to burn calories, but a way to combine exercise, fun and precision when it comes to working isolated movements throughout an adventure that promoted health and self-improvement values.

The Ring-Con, with a Joy-Con attached to the ring, does not have any electronic component, but the built-in technology itself is responsible for filtering the movements in 360 degrees. It is the closest thing to having a personal trainer come to mind. In addition, it has now been updated with a new rhythmic game mode with songs from major Nintendo franchises. The bad? It is exhausted, extremely exhausted, throughout Europe.

Fitness Boxing (Nintendo Switch)

It arrived on Nintendo Switch without making much noise, but now it has become one of the great desires in these times of confinement in the main western countries. Fitness Boxing is a personal trainer, a video game designed to get in shape through mini-games in which we have to keep up with the songs of artists such as Avril Lavigne, Lady Gaga or LMFAO, among others, through movements with our arms (a Joy -With in each hand).

Regardless of exercise, this title has a basic rule: you don't stop moving. To highlight, his personal trainer functions, activities such as jabs, crochets, hooks and live shows or the possibility of saving our progress in a personalized punching diary. Cardio in its purest form.

Specific body areas can be worked alone or cooperatively. Although the title is sold out in physical format (for the same reason as Ring Fit Adventure), it is possible to buy it from the Nintendo Switch eShop; does not require any specific peripherals. In addition, it has a free demo for us to try it and, if we like it, get hold of it with our own criteria.

Just Dance 2020 (PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, Wii)

For many the jewel in the crown. One of the most profitable and amortized productions in the history of Ubisoft is also one of the great successes of the last decade in the video game sector. Music games fell, singing games fell, but Just Dance continues to sell on all platforms every year (even on Wii). This version, Just Dance 2020, is anything but innovative; which is no obstacle to keep it just as fun and, above all, effective.

This installment celebrates 10 years of the saga in a big way with 40 new songs, new features and access to more than 500 songs from the Just Dance Unlimited catalog (if we buy the game we receive a month of access to the service at no additional cost). On Wii and Nintendo Switch we can play with motion control through the console's own controls; no need to buy external peripherals.

And what's new in Just Dance 2020? To highlight, the Kids mode returns for the smallest players in the house; control the calories we spend with Sweat mode; possibility to team up with friends in Co-op mode; and, as a novelty, the possibility of playing the best of the Just Dance decade again with the All-Stars mode.
