Resident Evil Resistance beta now available on PS4 and Steam

The test was scheduled for March 27, but had to be removed from these platforms due to technical problems.

Resident Evil 3 Remake is about to go on the market, so the reviews have already come to light, also that of FreeGameTips. After releasing the demo, Capcom confirmed that the beta for Resident Evil Resistance, the asymmetric multiplayer that comes with the main video game, would begin on March 27. However, on launch day, only the Xbox One version was able to get started. The Japanese company explained that due to technical problems, they had to delay the beta on PS4 and Steam. Now, Capcom has confirmed that it is already available on both platforms.

To access the beta, simply go to the different online stores and download the file, as we explained in FreeGameTips. This mode for up to five players pits a group of four survivors against a master brain, also controlled by another player. Jill Valentine, protagonist of the third installment, will fire her pistol also in Resistance, because Capcom announced in one of its last trailers the presence of this survivor.

Resident Evil Resistance replaces the classic mercenary mode, although the video game was originally intended to be distributed independently. According to Capcom, this decision was finally made because, unlike the second installment, Resident Evil 3 Remake does not have two campaigns. Although Carlos Oliveira is playable, it can be handled in different sections of the adventure.

The impact of the coronavirus

The coronavirus (COVID-19) has caused changes in the roadmap of many companies. In the case of Resident Evil 3 Remake, Capcom has decided not to change the release date, which does not mean that there will be no problems. The Japanese have acknowledged that they cannot guarantee that physical units will not be delayed. In the same situation is Square Enix, which has decided to send the copies earlier to try to ensure that no player receives the video game after the release date.

This reimagined version of the Capcom game will go on sale on April 3 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
