The next and last installment of Nihon Falcom's JRPG saga confirms its multiplatform release in the west along with two special editions.
Trails of Cold Steel IV, the fourth and final installment of Nihon Falcom's JRPG saga, finally confirms its release in the west, first arriving on PS4 next fall to make the leap to both PC and Nintendo Switch as early as 2021, in a date yet to be specified. This has been shared by those responsible, also publishing the trailer for the presentation of this new installment and detailing the two special editions that will be released along with the standard version of the title.
Available in Japan since late 2018
Thus, this fourth and last installment (not in vain, incorporates the title The End of Saga) is already available in Japan since September 2018; more than two years later, it finally confirms its western release for PS4 alongside PC and Switch. Thus, after the events of the third part, the heroes of the so-called Class VII must face the Empire of Erebonia to thwart their plans for total domination.
Beyond the basic version in digital format, two editions will be put on sale in physical format. The access edition known as Frontline Edition will include a copy of the game, a small art book, a CD with the soundtrack and a reversible cover, all for a price of 59.99 euros. The Frontline Edition of Switch will keep the same elements except for the soundtrack, which will arrive in digital format.
For its part, the Limited Edition of Trails of Cold Steel IV, available on both PS4 and Switch, will incorporate the same extras with a copy of the game, the soundtrack on CD, a hardcover art book, a metal case, a poster and seven cards with game art, all in a collector's box. It will be priced at 99.99 euros.
