Sony removes leaked videos from The Last of Us Part 2

Naughty Dog, who announced the game's new delay due to the coronavirus, is facing leaks of images and videos.

The Last of Us Part 2 remains one of the most anticipated titles in the PlayStation 4 exclusives catalog. After an initial delay of several months (the game was scheduled for February, but Naughty Dog needed more time and set a new date for on May 29), the coronavirus (COVID-19) has prevented the study from marketing the product as planned, making it indefinitely delayed. To top it off, just days after the announcement, some sequences have been leaked, so Sony and Naughty Dog have taken action on the matter.

It should be noted that the scenes that have been leaked correspond to test sequences, so it is possible that none of them reach the final video game. However, the videos are no longer available. In one of them, you could see Ellie, protagonist of the adventure, and Dina, her romantic partner, chatting about movies on the backs of their horses. In the other, the woman practices with the guitar in a minigame.

Some of those videos appear private, while others have been removed as a result of a copyright complaint by Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC. Of course, once a video is published, it is difficult to keep track of and delete all the copies that appear on the net. In the original Eurogamer news you could still see certain videos, but at the time of writing, they have already been removed.

Why has it been delayed again?

The Last of Us Part 2 has had to resign itself to the social reality that citizens live. Many of them are locked up because of government-ordered confinement, which seeks to stem the spread of the epidemic. It is a difficult scenario to sell a video game, especially since the stores are closed and the distribution of the physical copies has been altered.

At Naughty Dog, however, they explore the best solutions so that the product can be traded as soon as possible. For now, we will have to wait to see how the coronavirus situation evolves.
