Xbox shows what the new interface will look like; redesign before Xbox Series X

The next Microsoft console will inherit the new interface on which the team of Phil Spencer works, available from this April.

The Xbox One interface will undergo one last change before generation ends. Microsoft, according to the novelties presented in the last episode of Inside Xbox (with new games for Xbox Game Pass), has revealed that the next update in April will include aesthetic and design modifications to the machine's interface; a design that will be the one that integrates the Xbox Series X startup.

One interface for the entire Xbox ecosystem

As The Verge anticipates, Microsoft wants to keep intact the concept of ecosystem. Therefore, both Xbox One and xCloud – recently arrived in Spain with their beta – and Xbox Series X will share an interface. Apart from the design change, other aspects such as groups and chats will also be renewed, which will undergo a change from top to bottom to be more accessible, simplified and effective.

The Guide will be more structured and streamlined, the latter a key element on the Redmond firm's priority list. Thus, both the home screen and the control panel will require fewer steps to access the same functions.

The move to maintain the same interface structure across all Xbox family consoles currently on the market is consistent with the brand's philosophy of not leaving Xbox One users behind for the first full year since Xbox Series X arrives to the shops; thus, until the end of 2021 all the exclusive titles of Xbox Game Studios will be intergenerational. Halo: Infinite, to name a confirmed name, will be released simultaneously on both systems. It won't be until 2022 when we can start to see software that only sees the light on Xbox Series X.
