Inside Final Fantasy VII Remake hangs its episode 4, dedicated to music and sound

The developers meet to discuss various aspects of the development of this new production.

Inside Final Fantasy VII Remake is the free documentary that Square Enix periodically posts on the franchise's YouTube channel. In it, several members of the team reflect on the different elements that make up the development of the video game. After episodes dedicated to the story, characters, or combat system, the creatives chat about the challenges on a musical and sound level. The game does not feature the presence of Nobuo Uematsu, the original composer, although its classic themes have been used with new arrangements.

Neither does Uematsu appear in this episode of the documentary, where Yoshinori Kitase, producer of the remake and director of Final Fantasy VII meet, as well as Keiji Wakamori (sound supervisor), Makoto Ise (sound director) Mitsuto Suzuki (composer) and Masashi Hamauzu (composer). Below, you can see the full video, which lasts about 16 minutes and subtitles in several languages, including Spanish and Japanese.

No to gutters, ask for Square Enix

Final Fantasy VII Remake has not officially gone on sale, but physical copies are already in many players' homes because Square Enix decided to anticipate possible unit shortages or distribution problems caused by the coronavirus. However, the action of COVID-19, which keeps many players in confinement, has not been sufficient reason for the Japanese to decide to advance the release date in digital format. However, the company asked those who are already playing it to be respectful and not destroy the story to the rest of the players.

The title, exclusive to PlayStation 4 for a year, reimagines the 1997 classic with new playable mechanics and an expansion of the original plot. Square Enix has conceived the project as a long-term product that will expand the universe of the original. It is still unknown how many episodes it will be composed, so we will have to wait for the development of the second to begin and the plans are solidifying.
