Gus Rodríguez, Q.E.P.D the father of video game journalism in Mexico

One of the most representative icons of the video game industry dies

It's midnight and through a message, I learned that the founder of the video game media industry in Mexico has decided to save his most important game in the midst of the key test that our planet has, the Covid-19.

I had the chance to meet Gus up close by luck. When he saw it, he always blurred a smile and when he could, he played Dr. Mario, his favorite title.

In recent dates I was lucky to be close to his family, the most incredible thing is that until the end, Don Gus, never stopped joking, denoting what always characterized him, humor.

Her battle against one of the most terrible diseases of humanity, never diminished her particular smile.

Only one call was enough to make it clear that Don Gus, even in the end, was not going to stop joking. It is probable that this anecdote will take me to the grave, but if I have to say that this genius never stopped smiling.

In good spirits and with good manners, Don Gus showed humility to the end, for him all this was a challenge that made him level up, transcending immortality.

Today an icon died, but with him, several generations of gamers and journalists were born who, without hesitation, will follow suit.

RIP. Gus Rodríguez.
