Controversial Hatred sets course for Nintendo Switch

The game, classified at the time as ultraviolent game, cannot be published in the eShop unless it lowers its rating.

Manhunt 2 and Thrill Kill are two of the video games that were once classified as extremely violent. So was Hatred, a highly controversial title that just announced its release on the Nintendo Switch. This has been confirmed by Destructive Creations, the development studio behind the title. Through a Twitter post, the creators have shared an image of the video game running on the Kyoto machine.

"Happy Easter, dear fans. We recently revealed something related to Nintendo Switch. This image may give you an idea of what is going to happen. Are you waiting for it? ”, They comment in the tweet. The truth is that if the product is classified as in its version of yesteryear, in principle it could not be released in the Nintendo eShop, since the Japanese reserve the right to prevent the arrival of highly violent productions on their online platform. It will therefore be necessary to wait for the process to take its course and the organizations decide in the appropriate direction.

The game is about killing people

"These days, when most games try to be polite, colorful, and politically correct," they are intended to be "fine art rather than just entertainment," they explain in the official description. “We wanted to create something against fashion. We said 'yes, this is a game about killing people', and the only reason the antagonist does these sick things is because of his deep hatred. ”

The protagonist, fed up with humanity, is dedicated to ending the lives of others. With this premise, it was expected that its content would generate debate on the moral limits of the work. In any case, Destructive Creations continues with the intention of continuing to sell the video game.

The studio is the author of Ancestors Legacy, a strategy title supported by Warhorse, the parents of Kingdom Come Deliverance. Both developers announced a collaboration long ago.
