Guerrilla Games (Horizon: Zero Dawn) seeks to hire a creature animator

Guerrilla Games (Horizon: Zero Dawn) seeks creatives with multiplayer experience

The Dutch studio is actively seeking an expert in these tasks, although they do not explain the video game or the target platform.

Guerrilla Games is already working on its next video game after the worldwide success of Horizon: Zero Dawn on PS4. The studio's official website, a subsidiary of Sony Interactive Entertainment in the Netherlands, now reflects new job vacancies and, among them, is the hiring of a future new creature animator.

This new employee will join the core team to lead the department's vision for the future and create animal creatures with a "strong emphasis on realism."

Since January, we know that the Dutch company, currently with just over 200 employees, was actively seeking a creative expert in designing multiplayer experiences for an “epic open world”. Presumably, the game will have its sights set on coming out on PlayStation 5, although it is not stated in the job offer.

Horizon: Zero Dawn (2017): Over 10 million copies sold on PlayStation 4

Given these circumstances, it is rash to say that this new game they have running is necessarily a sequel to Horizon: Zero Dawn. There are two possibilities: the first, that they are working on a hypothetical direct sequel with multiplayer; the second, that it is another intellectual property that has creatures and multiplayer mode.

The only certainty we know is that Sony will continue to produce "quality exclusive" games and narrative-focused single player games for the foreseeable future, given the good commercial performance of the titles that are now part of the PS4 catalog. Hermen Hulst, director of Sony Worldwide Studios, explained that his plan is to continue supporting these experiences on PlayStation consoles. Until last year, Horizon: Zero Dawn has sold more than 10 million copies globally.

Horizon: Zero Dawn will be released on PC this summer

The confirmation of Aloy's adventure on PC has not been without criticism. The game's producer, Sam Sharma, who no longer works at the Dutch company, harshly criticized those who questioned whether the move made sense or detracted from buying a PlayStation. This computer version of Horizon: Zero Dawn is coming this summer with ultra-wide resolution (2: 1 or 21: 9). "To reassure people, just because we launch our own AAA title on PC doesn't necessarily mean that all games are going to come out on PC now," Hulst himself said to reassure the masses.

That won't be the only commercial expansion plan for a PlayStation license in the coming months or years, however. The Last of Us will arrive on the small screen by both Naughty Dog and the British network HBO, who will adapt the license to a series with the captaincy of Neil Druckmann, creative director of the video game and Craig Mazin, father of Chernobyl, as leader main project.
