After Resident Evil 3 Remake and Capcom asking fans about more similar installments in the future, we consulted readers.
Earlier this April, following the release of Resident Evil 3 Remake on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, Capcom released a public poll with a very direct question: "If a new Resident Evil remake came out, would you buy it?" From FreeGameTips, we extend the issue to our readers through Twitter and we have proposed several options; those that seem more plausible to us if we continue with the logic used by the Osaka company in recent times.
In the modern era, after Resident Evil 2 (2019) and Resident Evil 3 (2020), the following candidates are Resident Evil Code: Veronica (which was originally conceived as Resident Evil 3) and Resident Evil 4, the latter one of the most all-time hits in the series. Therefore, the formulation has revolved around this order of preferences. First off, Resident Evil Code: Veronica or Resident Evil 4?

With a total of 2,659 votes cast, the winner has been Resident Evil: Code Veronica; Although, in reality, 34.9% of the participants prefer that this trend take a breather. In total, 34.8% of the votes went to the original title of Hiroki Kato and Shinji Mikami published in 2000 for Dreamcast, SEGA's latest domestic machine. Later it was released on PS2, GabeCube and both PS3 and Xbox 360.
At the contextual level, the events that are narrated in the game take place three months after what was seen in Resident Evil 2 with Claire Redfield, Chris Redfield and Steve Burnside as protagonists in a gameplay focused on survival horror and a greater emphasis on puzzles than in the third numbered installment.
The popularity of Resident Evil 4, however, was much higher, as recorded by the official Capcom portal in its list of best-selling video games. With 8.6 million copies sold, the fourth numbered chapter has come to light on many subsequent platforms through both physical and digital distribution. Recently, in FreeGameTips we have published a video in which we imagined what a remake of this episode would be like.
