The producer Bad Robot of the famous filmmaker prepares three series for the streaming channel with the League of Dark Justice as the main protagonist.

J.J. Abrams, the famous filmmaker responsible for films like the recent Star Wars: Skywalker's Rise, is preparing a new television series based on the League of Dark Justice or Justice League Dark, a group of DC superheroes made up of several anti-heroes from the popular American comic book publisher, for the HBO Max streaming platform. This has been shared by media such as The Hollywood Reporter, also advancing two new series from Bad Robot itself for that channel such as Duster and Overlook, a spin-off of the terrifying movie The Shining.

The Dark Justice League underway

Emerged from the DC comics in 2011, the Dark Justice League is a group of characters that somehow or other have a relationship with magic and the darkest side of the DC Comics universe, made up of names like John Constantine, Zatanna, Swamp Thing, Deadman, Madame Xanadu or Doctor Mist, among others. Of course, at the moment it is not known which characters of the group will adapt for this new series of HBO Max.

And it is that some of them have already had a leading role in different recent DC series such as the Thing of the Swamp or John Constantine in The CW and their last appearance in the crossover Crisis on Infinite Earths. It is also not known whether in the event that they finally appeared (they are two of the most popular characters in the group) the versions that we already know would remain or would bet on new interpreters or CGI designs in the case of the swampy monster.

In any case, it is certain that J.J. Abrams will be at the forefront of a project that began months ago with the agreement between its producer Bad Robot and Warner Bros. and from which the rumor that the filmmaker could be in charge of a new Superman film emerged, something that the director himself already denied at the end of last year.
