A new way to experience id software's masterpiece, ready to download and play
Doom Reborn is a project that has been in development for more than six years and that starts from a very simple premise: bringing the classic Doom to the ID Tech 4 engine, that of Doom 3. The third part of the saga was a game very different from the former, more a survival horror than the wild and unbridled action game that was originally, but this total conversion shows that if it had been wanted, it could have created a continuous experience with all the fluidity expected from the game it popularized the FPS.

The project is currently in a sweet and very affordable phase to test it. Pre-Beta version 1.65 includes numerous graphical improvements and all the complete phases of the two games. You still have a lot of work ahead (for example, you cannot save or load mid-phase, you have to complete a level to be able to unlock the next one), but it is a very enjoyable and curious experience, where you can see some of the benefits of the motor used, such as the unforgettable lighting system – although here we will not need a flashlight. The project also incorporates original music and higher quality sound effects to accompany the visual leap.
The best thing about the current state of this development is that Doom 3 is no longer needed to install it as a mod. Since both the original Doom and ID Tech 4 source code are already open, the developers of the project have prepared a simple package to download and install completely legally, so you can enjoy it without major complications
