Trials of Mana Remake: what is the best team to start?

We tell you the most interesting team for newbies in the game and the reasons that lead us to these three characters.

Trials of Mana is already with us. The remake of the known as Seiken Densetsu 3 for us, and which never came to Europe, goes on sale today and does so with several changes that you can learn more about in our Reviews. The game offered us already in Super Famicom, or in Collection of Mana where it came to Switch last year translated into Spanish, the proposal to choose between three of the six protagonists to wage our adventure, being the first of the chosen ones who would tell us his personal history as a prologue. Although the title rewards and connects some characters more interestingly than others, here what we are going to do is go over a powerful team for those who play the title for the first time.

One thing to note is that the Remake seems to have a much lower difficulty than the original game, where if you went one or two levels below the enemies you were a dead man, and we no longer say to bosses. Given this, we recommend that you dare to play difficult, since despite its name it makes it a little more demanding … Still being too easy for what the original game was.

Who's who in Trials of Mana

First it is important to know what type of characters we have at our disposal, and to highlight that all of them are viable, even in teams with few synergies, to finish the game. In addition, it is important to know that in the game you change classes on different occasions (up to 4 in the remake) so that beyond choosing the character, we must also take into account the path that we will follow at the development level. We make a brief summary:

  • Duran: He is one of the game's warriors and one of the characters focused on physical damage, who in subsequent classes can apply certain elements to his special sword attacks.

  • Angela: the only pure mage in the game, capable of casting spells of all kinds from a distance and multi-target. More powerful here than in the original game.

  • Kevin: The other purely physical character in the game, with much more damage than Duran but less balance in other stats. It transforms into a wolf at night and increases its strength.

  • Charlotte – The classic healer of the game, dedicated to healing actions and elements that work as debuffs for enemies.

  • Falco: Balanced character, which serves to lower properties and stats of enemies, is very lucky that helps drop items and is not bad in melee.

  • Lis: Highly recommended character because he has balanced statistics on almost everything, he is very useful in combat for ranged attacks and has powerful summons.

A good team to start

Knowing all this, and knowing that the toughest enemies of all will be the final bosses, that there are plenty of them, our team proposal to start is the following: Kevin, Angela and Lis. Choosing Kevin as the main character allows us to adapt to the melee style with the best fighter. It does a lot of damage on most enemies, it has power-ups if we fight at night and it is a guarantee in these situations.

Lis trials of mana

Together with him we choose Angela, because she is the best magician in the game, her multi-objective attacks are perfect to clear enemy areas quickly and in the middle of the game it is tremendously devastating to kill them all. The third in disagreement is Lis, due to her balanced style, ranged attacks and the abilities she is acquiring that allow to enhance both Kevin's power and Angela's magic, as well as launching tremendously powerful invocations. It is a good support to enhance the attacks of the other two characters. Between the three they make an ideal team to knock down big bosses.

Teams according to narrative and history

It is important to keep in mind that there are couples who share elements of the story and extend it with certain moments, which are not radically essential either but that may interest you. Therefore, we recommend that if you want to focus on the stories, keep these couples in mind:

  • Lis and Falco
  • Angela and Durán
  • Kevin and Charlotte

If your final objective is to make teams with these predefined pairs, the best thing in the case of Angela and Durán is that you add Lis to make the simile of the team that we mentioned above. In Kevin and Charlotte's team, a good third character is Durán, since he covers elemental attacks when he advances in his classes and thus builds a physical team with the support of Charlotte as healer. Finally, in a team with Lis and Falco a good third piece is Charlotte as support or Durán as attack character as a berserker, it depends on your style.
