If we thought that the effects of the coronavirus crisis on the video game industry were beginning to ease, we were wrong. To the wave of delays that occurred this spring, we must add one more, although it must be specified that only in its physical format edition: this time it is The Wonderful 101, a remastering not without controversy, the affected, whose copies in stores have already its investors will not arrive until early July in Europe. Of course, it has been promised that the damages will be compensated.

A delay that could be even longer

It was last Thursday when Platinum Games notified its investors in Kickstarter by email of this setback, since according to them, the coronavirus has caused, as expected, problems in the production and distribution of these physical copies. In this way, as we said, these will not be available until June 30 in North America and July 3 in Europe. Still, it is also reported that depending on the state or country of residence and the means of distribution, these copies could arrive even later than the indicated days.

However, the digital copies will arrive, as planned, on the 7th of this month of May. As compensation to those who invested enough to get a physical copy, Platinum Games will give these investors a copy of Steam so that they have at least the possibility to play at the same time as the others.

Thus, the release date of The Wonderful 101 Remastered is May 7 for digital copies and July 3 for physical copies. This Platinum Games title, in which you manage a group of superheroes at the same time, originally launched on Wii U in 2013, far from being a bestseller. However, that did not prevent it from becoming a cult game on the Nintendo console, beloved enough for the Japanese studio to be encouraged to carry out this remastering.
