Prince of Persia Redemption discovered: a canceled game that has been on YouTube for 8 years

A user finds a gameplay of a canceled video game of such a famous saga that has been on the video platform since 2012 without anyone noticing.

Despite the fact that the Prince of Persia saga has not received a new installment for years, Ubisoft was working years ago on a video game known as Prince of Persia Redemption, a video game that no one has known about until now; And it is that a user has discovered on YouTube a gameplay of such a mysterious title through a video uploaded to the popular platform in 2012 and that had gone completely unnoticed until today.

Cinematic action sequence

Thus, a user of the ResetEra forum has shared a video uploaded to YouTube through a channel called PositiveLauncher no more and no less than 8 years ago and in which we can see a generous sequence of action in which the protagonist develops with considerable ease through sections of platforms, quick time events and combat, including an impressive final boss.

To all this we must add a skill with which he is able to go back a few moments in time to avoid falling to an enemy, giving the player a second chance if he dies. A scene quite spectacular for the time and that surely squeezed the hardware in which this mysterious Prince of Persia Redemption should appear.

Said video is nothing more than a leak of a video game that was never even announced in its day but in which Ubisoft, apparently, was working; and it can be deduced if we tie a few dots, such as the fact that a former developer of Ubisoft, Christophe Prelot, highlights in his Linkedin profile that he was working on a Prince of Persia game canceled between 2010 and 2011. On the other hand, Marc-Andre Belleau, technical director at Ubisoft, commented two years ago in the same video "Where did you get this from ?!".

At the moment Ubisoft has not issued any official statement on this discovery and there are no plans to recover a saga that has not received any new delivery since the Forgotten Sands of 2010.
