The leak by Epic Games has not led to surprises: the veteran Rockstar Games game will be free until May 21.
Just hours before the release of the new free game from the Epic Games Store, the store itself has posted a tweet announcing that GTA 5 would be the gift title this week. Quickly, they took care of fixing the error and deleting both the tweet and the embedded video … too late. Internet users have rushed and have taken a copy, duly filtered on the Internet. Finally, the leak was not a trolley from the Epic Games Store: GTA 5 (its best tricks!) Will be this week's free game for PC. Therefore, from today until May 21, all players will be able to add the title permanently to their libraries.

The successful Rockstar Games production went on sale in 2013 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Soon after, it was adapted for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, as its launch occurred just with the generational change. Still, PC gamers had to wait two more years to experience the story of Franklin Clinton, Michael de Santa, and Trevor Phillips.

Unreal Engine 5, the new engine of Epic Games
Eyes were on the Summer Game Fest, the event hosted by Geoff Keighley of The Game Awards. The journalist and showmann already hinted that what was coming was not a medianship, but an important announcement for the industry. And it happened. Unreal Engine 5, the new version of the graphics engine from Epic Games, is now official. The technology, which will work on both current and next-generation systems, was presented through a technical demo running on PlayStation 5.
Along with this announcement, Epic Games also revealed that Fortnite will have a version on Xbox Series X and PS5, although the first adaptation will be made with Unreal Engine 4. Later, it will be completely renovated.

1. Create an account on the Epic Store
If you don't have an account in the Epic store, the first step is to create one. The Epic Store is a digital store and client from which you can buy games, similar to what Steam or GOG Galaxy can be. Epic Store also has the particularity that it offers a free game every Thursday. During the week it is on sale, you can add it for free to your personal bookstore and once you do it it will be yours forever.

2. Download and install the client
The next step is to download the client that contains the Epic Store. You can make it go to the official page and press the button that says "Get Epic Games" or click directly here, a window will open with the installer program, download it wherever you want and run. Another window will open to install the program, choose the location in which you prefer based on the space you have of hard drives and install. You can choose whether you want the program to start automatically when you start the computer or ask it to only run manually.
3. Activate two-step verification
Important! Before you can access your free game, it is essential to activate two-step verification from the Epic Games client. Once you have it open, follow these steps:

This way you will not only have a more secure account, you will also be able to purchase your free game of the week.
4. Get your game
Finally, all you have to do is go to the "Store" tab and look for the free game of the week, which is usually among the first things you see when you enter. Click on "Get", check that the price you pay is 0.00 € and accept, verify that you accept the conditions and a message will appear confirming the "purchase" made and the sending of an invoice to your email. Once that is done, the game will be available in the Library tab within the client and you can download and play it whenever you want, without limitations. Of course, remember that the period in which you can buy it for free is one week, so you have until May 21 at 5:00 PM Spanish time to get this offer and keep it forever.
