PS5: Sony will show launch games "soon"

Sony's next-generation console has yet to show all its cards, though the company is gearing up for a new whipping of information.

The new generation of consoles is coming, but far from having all the information on the table, there are still many unknowns to unravel. While Microsoft will show news of Xbox Series X every month, Sony has not yet revealed how it will present PlayStation 5. However, the Japanese company has spoken about the status of its next system in the strategic meeting held by the group. Although not recorded in the minutes document, Sony plans to show its video game lineup "soon".

No specific date is set, but the Japanese follow a strategy of their own that they had already planned before the COVID-19 crisis manifested itself. In fact, PlayStation 5 was not going to be presented at E3 2020, since Sony decided not to attend the fair for the second consecutive year. Instead, he preferred to stay on the sidelines and organize his own events, even though the plan was never detailed to the public.

The plan goes ahead: end of 2020

During the meeting, they reiterated that the launch is maintained for the end of 2020, something that they had previously confirmed, just after they denied the launch offer that referred to a possible date in October. According to what was discussed, not only will the graphics improve, but the experience at the controls will be revolutionized and the speed of the games will be improved thanks to its SSD technology.

As has happened with the entire entertainment sector, in recent months there has been an increase in active players due to confinement, a fact that has been perceived in demand. Not surprisingly, PlayStation Plus subscribers have reached 41.5 million active users.

Unreal Engine 5, the new version of the graphics engine from Epic Games, was recently announced with a technical demo that works on a PlayStation 5. According to Tim Sweeney, CEO of Epic, the storage system is the best that exists today, even comparing it to high-end PCs.
