Epic Games Store activates self-refund: before 14 days and playing less than two hours

The company advises that if it is abused, they may not consider the refund request suitable.

The Epic Games Store, which continues to gain support thanks to the free games they offer every Thursday, continues to add features and this time comes one that is highly desired by users and was missing: the ability to generate self-reimbursements without having to go through forms or the like. The company has announced that the new feature is now available under some conditions: "All games can be refunded for any reason within 14 days of purchase. However, you must have played no more than two hours." Additionally, they add that if we have been disabled in a game, have violated terms of service, or are abusing the policy, they may consider us unfit for refund.

In order to access it, we have to log into the Epic Games account, click on the Account menu in the upper right corner of the store, go to the transactions tab and click on the title of the game in question. If the self-refund option is available, we can press it to start the process.

Refund in EGS with the same payment system

As indicated on the Epic Games Store page, the refund will be received as follows: "This will be refunded through the same payment method used to make the purchase, although this may not always be possible depending on the method of payment used. Also, note that the time it takes to complete the refund process depends on your payment method. "

To apply this novelty to the system, the platform performs a new ownership check of the installed games in order to use the refund. If the error LS-0021 is displayed, it means that the license test has not been passed. If the game is your property, they recommend following the steps in this link.

Remember that there are few days left to download GTA 5 for free in the Epic Games Store, take advantage before the promotion ends next Thursday.
