Rainbow Six Siege presents Operation Steel Wave: all the details

Ubisoft production faces its fifth year in the market with a stream of content that continues and goes through several additional innovations.

Rainbow Six Siege is proof that a bad start can be reversed. Ubisoft has continued to support its video game since its launch, something that has allowed this online tactical shooter to reap huge numbers when it comes to active gamers. Aware of this, the French company continues to add content and has released all the details of the second season of Year 5, which introduces Operation Steel Wave.

According to the press release, this new content pack adds Ace agents, a new Norwegian attacker and South African defender, Melusi. It also adds a complete redesign of the House map and many changes at the playable level, as discussed in a press release.

Ace and Melusi, everything we know

Ace was part of the Norwegian National Guard, where he was considered a hero. Later, he joined the Forsvarets Spesialkommando unit and took part in a joint operation with the UN, which took place in Somalia. In that country they saved Kali and then they signed him in NIGHTHAVEN. "Ace is equipped with SELMA, a throwable adhesive device that attaches to any vertical surface and destroys up to three panels of it, one after the other." SELMA can also be used against almost any defender device.

Melusi was recruited by the South African National Defense Force to improve her skills, although she nearly perished after an ambush. After that experience, she left the army and joined the Inkaba Special Forces Poaching Unit, a military body specialized in training women in tracking, interception and surveillance. This fighter has a Banshee electronic artifact capable of slowing down any attacker in her line of sight. In addition, it is very useful to find new information.

As for the design changes of the House, the basement, attic and office tower areas have been expanded, among other elements. These are the additional updates:

  • A unified MMR
  • Improvements in Amaru
  • The proximity alarm
  • The Echo Elite Set

Ubisoft has also confirmed that the Operation Steel Wave test server will start operating on May 19, although it will only be available on PC. Rainbow Six Siege can also be enjoyed on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia and will launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X.
