DotEmu (Streets of Rage 4, Wonder Boy) works on three unannounced projects

DotEmu (Streets of Rage 4, Wonder Boy) works on three unannounced projects

Those responsible for SEGA's latest big beat ‘em up have more video games on their hands, they confirmed in a digital meeting with fans.

DotEmu is working on three new projects still unknown. The French publisher, commissioned with Lizardcube and Guard Crush Games from Streets of Rage 4, have communicated through a Q&A with fans through Reddit that they have not stopped working on their next orders despite the recent critical and public success that has been the return of the SEGA beat 'em up saga.

DLC for Streets of Rage 4, more than a possibility

Many of the questions of this digital meeting have revolved around the future of, precisely, Streets of Rage 4 and the possibility of seeing DLC in the future. Guard Crush Games was already open to this possibility; in fact, they indicated that they had ideas. This time, the CEO of DotEmu has done the same, reiterating that will, although they have nothing to announce. In the words of Cyrille Imbert: “We have many ideas, and in fact we want to add more content in the future. But we have not decided anything yet, so we are listening to you and we will let you know ‘what’ and when ’very soon,” he says.

They have also been asked about an eventual sequel, but "we haven't discussed it yet" because "we would like to focus on SoR4 first and continue adding content." And here are the statements that have inevitably become news: "At DotEmu, we are currently working on three similar, unannounced projects, so stay tuned," he says, accompanying the message with the wink emoji.

Regarding DotEmu, it is worth noting the recent trajectory of this study founded in 2007 by Xavier Liard and Romain Tisserand. After editing minor works and adaptations or ports of existing works the past decade, his works with The King of Fighters 2000, Art of Fighting 2, Neo Turf Masters and Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap began to nominate this team as one of the favorites when it comes to taking on the edition of titles where the task is based on rescuing sagas from the past with a facelift.

They are in charge of Windjammers 2 and Final Fantasy VIII Remastered. After Streets of Rage 4, there are many wishes but few certainties; at least for now.
