Mafia 3: Definitive Edition, no enhancements on Xbox One X and PS4 Pro

Mafia 3: Definitive Edition, no enhancements on Xbox One X and PS4 Pro

A representative from 2K Games has stated that the developers are aware of the bug and are already looking for a solution.

The third installment of the Mafia saga was not easy at its launch, back in 2016. The Hangar 13 video game did not meet the expectations of the players, so it has been considered a kind of black sheep within the series. Still, 2K Games maintains that the franchise is important to them, just as they have announced and released the Ultimate Editions of Mafia 2 and Mafia 3. However, Reviews by Digital Foundry (the tech section of Eurogamer) has determined that The third part does not have any kind of improvement on Xbox One X and PS4 Pro, although 2K has promised that the studio is already working on it.

The funny thing is that the original version already offered these improvements. While on the Sony machine it worked at 1440p, on Xbox One X it reached 1728p. Anyway, on the Microsoft Store website it is promised that Mafia 3: Definitive Edition is "full 4K", a data that has been proven incorrect. According to Digital Foundry, the resolution is 900p on the Microsoft system. On the other hand, gamers who downloaded the Definitive Edition 10GB update now contend that the game looks much worse than before. "I'm afraid the people behind Mafia 3: Definitive Edition had no idea there was a specific version for Xbox One X and PS4 Pro," says one user on Reddit.

Hangar 13, aware of the errors

Digital Foundry has asked 2K about this issue. "The development team in charge of Mafia 3: Definitive Edition is aware of the problem and is working on restoring support to Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro as soon as possible," says the company representative, part of Take- Two Interactive.

The two Mafia sequels are now available. Instead, the remake of the first installment will be released on August 28. Those interested can now purchase the complete Mafia Trilogy pack or the products separately.
