Pokémon GO confirms 6 hours of maintenance on June 1: not playable

The popular Niantic game will go through a period of global downtime for a set time to fix some issues.

The Pokémon Company will deactivate the Pokémon GO servers for a period of six hours worldwide this Monday, June 1, 2020. The popular Niantic game will undergo a period of global inactivity from 20:00 on June 1 until 02:00 (CEST) of the already entered June 2 in Europe to carry out maintenance tasks. It will not be playable in that time frame.

Although it is an anomaly in Pokémon GO, this type of work is common in most popular video games with some type of connection to online mode. Although it cannot be played that afternoon-night (11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. PDT), the Pokémon GO communication team will continue to offer information through social networks and will warn, both on the Twitter social network and from the push notifications of iOS and Android, in the event of any eventuality and the subsequent restoration of online servers.
