Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Announces Japanese Release Date

The new version of the GameCube classic has been repeatedly delayed, but there is already light at the end of the tunnel.

The return of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles to current systems is being more complicated than it might seem at first glance. Production of Square Enix has been repeatedly delayed, and although it was scheduled for 2019, the date was moved to January 2020. However, they also failed to arrive on time. The news is that the remastering will go on sale on August 27 in Japan, as the company itself has confirmed. And what happens to the rest of the markets? At the moment, the launch window is still "summer 2020", so we will have to see if it remains.

In this video game specially geared towards multiplayer, players launch into an adventure in a wonderful world full of dangers. Unlike classic titles back then, Square Enix opted for a real-time combat system. His designs stood out for their superdeformed style, a different direction than the numbered games have taken since Final Fantasy X.

More than a visual improvement

The Japanese company defended that the previous delay occurred because the team needed more time to improve the product to the maximum. The remastering must be adapted to a different control system, since the original version of the GameCube was focused on a peripheral that allowed the Game Boy Advance to be connected as controls. The game used the extra screens on laptops to provide the player with additional options and information. Now, it will also have an online mode for up to four players, a new cast of voices and unpublished content.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition is slated for a cross-platform release. In fact, it will come to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and mobile devices, both Android and iOS. In these last platforms a kind of free demo will be released, in which you can try the first hours of the adventure.
