Marvel’s Iron Man VR reaches the gold phase: its development is over

Marvel's Iron Man VR sets its new release date on PS4

The virtual reality video game planned for PS4 this July will take advantage of the features of the PS VR helmet. The studio celebrates it.

Camouflaj, study in charge of Marvel’s Iron Man VR, has communicated through the social network Twitter that the development of the video game has ended: it has reached the so-called gold phase. From now on, Sony will start working on the edition and distribution of the physical and digital copies ahead of the launch of the virtual reality game for PS VR on PlayStation 4 on July 3.

"After years of work, we are proud to announce that Marvel’s Iron Man VR is now officially gold," they gleefully comment on in the message posted Thursday. "We can't take it anymore for people to wear the suit exclusively for PlayStation VR on July 3," they say.

The message is accompanied by a set of images of a multitude of members of the development team — apparently all of them — from their homes, as the current situation of the coronavirus pandemic forced the employees of the North American study to continue advancing from their homes to finalizing this extensive development, which as pointed out in the statement has taken several years to be completed. Now, however, it is postulated as one of Sony's most ambitious VR device experiences since it hit the market a few years ago.

Those who want to try Marvel’s Iron Man VR before its launch, it should be remembered that a free demo of the game with several phases is available from this month of May; it is essential to have a pair of PS Move controls. Our partner Alejandro Castillo has played this demo for several hours to tell us first-hand what he thought of it. And yes, he liked it quite a bit.

The next two PS4 releases this summer are The Last of Us Part 2, which arrives on the eve of the change of season, June 19 (Reviews on FreeGameTips on Monday, June 12) and, soon after, on 17 July, Ghost of Tsushima will end the catalog of great PS4 exclusives before starting to speak fully on PS5.
