Valencian studio Chibig Studio has announced the release date of Summer in Mara. The new project from the creators of Deiland will arrive in digital format for Nintendo Switch and PC through Steam this June 16. Also, from this Friday, May 29, you can already play a free demo called Summer in Mara Prologue, with which we can experience the beginning of the game in this tropical adventure.

Demo now available on Steam: adventure prologue

The Chibig team, with whom we were able to speak just a few weeks ago to learn about their adaptation to the pandemic period during the coronavirus, have already warned us that their purpose was to launch the game in the spring, and it will be so. Summer in Mara will put us in the shoes of Koa, a young explorer who must take care of her own island with farming and crafting mechanics, added to a huge ocean that we can explore. The demo, which allows access to those first few bars of expertise, can be downloaded now from Steam. Soon, at some point yet to be confirmed from 2020, there will be a version for PS4 and Xbox One.

The team, based in Valencia, considers that it is "a relaxed experience for a single player". On our island we will be able to fish, grow and harvest crops, as happens in games like Stardew Valley or Harvest Moon, from which he takes inspiration; just like The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker on an artistic level. The playable offer will also take us to navigate our boat to meet other islands, new characters and get new tools with which to get more resources. A chain of structures carefully designed to constantly establish a sense of improvement at the controls. In total, over 30 hours of gameplay with over 250 missions.

Throughout the adventure, we will be able to commercial with more than twenty characters, who have their own life and personal history. They will be the ones to send us other missions and give us clues about the world. "Knowing them is very important in the game, so we have put a lot of effort into creating unique and interesting characters," says Chibig. There are also enemies in this universe, the Elit. “An evil corporation from another planet that wants to conquer Mara and exploit the resources of its ocean. Napopo was one of its first victims, a mysterious creature that will seek Koa to help her. "

All in all, Summer in Mara will be released on June 16 for the moment only in digital format through the eShop on Nintendo Switch and through Steam for those who prefer to play it on PC. It will be fully translated into Spanish, among other languages.
