F1 2020 allows you to see what the new Hanoi circuit looks like; fast lap with Leclerc

Codemasters shows the first virtual fast lap to the Hanoi circuit in F1 2020. We got on Charles Leclerc's Ferrari to check it out.

Codemasters show a quick lap to the Hanoi circuit in F1 2020. The Vietnamese track is the second to join the Formula 1 calendar this year. The first, Zandvoort, was shown last month aboard Max Verstappen's Red Bull. The Dutchman has already made his mark, at least virtually.

As for the Hanoi circuit, it is the first time that it will race in the four-wheel queen category. It is a fusion between urban and permanent section, which takes inspiration from other mythical ones such as Suzuka, Monaco and the Nürburgring. As stated in the official statement, it has been designed for "action and overtaking", especially with its two very long straights.

The pit lane will be one of the shortest in the entire championship, which “eats” the last and the first corner. That time saving is balanced with what was lost at the stop; strategy will also play a determining role. The COVID-19 crisis has somewhat disrupted the plans regarding its transfer to the virtual world. Although the data is not one hundred percent, the recreation is faithful to what would have been held on April 5.

Lee Mather, director of the F1 series in the studio, talks about its characteristics: "The Hanoi circuit is pure adrenaline at high speeds, long straights and severe braking zones, but it will punish anyone who does not respect the walled sections."

Last April we were able to attend the F1 2020 presentation, as well as the first contact. You can read our impressions at this link. If instead you prefer it on video, you will find it here. Remember that Formula 1 2020 will arrive next Friday, July 10, on PS4, Xbox One, PC and Google Stadia. Players who purchase the Michael Schumacher Deluxe Edition will be able to enter the game three days early, in addition to receiving exclusive themed items from the German legend.
