Godfall for PS5 and PC anticipates news in a new teaser trailer

The game, developed by Counterplay Games and edited by Gearbox, will be published on these two platforms later this year.

A few days after Sony Interactive Entertainment presents the first PlayStation 5 games, Counterplay Games has shared a small teaser trailer for Godfall, the first video game that was confirmed for the Japanese machine. The title, which will also be released on PC, is an action-focused RPG that won't see the light of day on the current generation of consoles. Although its gameplay was leaked through an old video, the team has assured that it does not correspond to the current version.

In an interview with the Official PlayStation Magazine, the developers reviewed the influences they have had throughout development. Names like Monster Hunter or Dark Souls came to the fore, as well as Destiny. That being the case, players will use an aggressive approach to combat, which will need to adjust attacks at the right time. When falling, the enemies will leave behind objects that we can recover, as in other similar franchises of the genre.

Four elements in a world about to perish

The work is inspired by fantasy novels, The Stormlight Archive. The player will step into the shoes of the last knight of an order about to be extinguished. Its purpose? Fight to avoid cataclysm in the world. It is confirmed that the four elements (fire, air, wind and water) will be closely linked to the plot. As it could not be otherwise, we will have the opportunity to customize the warrior through various classes, as well as enjoy cooperative play.

Godfall will go on sale at the end of 2020. At the moment, no more specific date has been confirmed. Will this video game be at the event that Sony has prepared for April 4? At the moment, nothing has been officially announced, although the premiere of the teaser portends possible news very soon. We will have to be vigilant.
