In an interview with IGN, the co-director of the video game, Neil Druckmann, has referred to this new threat.
“We want the fights to feel dynamic,” says Druckmann. So the wobbly ones force you to move, as the corrosive damage from these monsters will harm you if you don’t. “Like any [enemigo] of terror, limit your senses and block your vision. Although the mechanics in question may seem simple on paper, it is when it is combined with those of the rest of the infected ”when it becomes“ really interesting ”.

Improved enemies
According to the director, at some point you will have to face the situation of fleeing from a corrosive cloud without knowing exactly where it is in the wobbly one. At the same time, “a runner will emerge from the cloud,” so now they “are more dangerous” than in the first title. In that sense, Druckmann acknowledges that in The Last of Us they could not develop different behaviors for these monsters. “Instead of just attacking you, they will run away, hide, and look for opportunities to surprise you,” he warns. “Then they will attack in herds, which creates different types of tension.”
The new production of Naughty Dog implements an evasion mechanic, so the studio has had to review the clickers so that it was not too easy to dodge them. “They are faster and more agile to compensate for Ellie’s new mechanics.” Furthermore, the power of the PlayStation 4 has allowed many more enemies to be displayed.
The Last of Us Part 2 will be released on June 19 exclusively for PS4.
