The company has announced that they will provide more information on the expansion in the future, but they have not detailed exactly when it will be.
Blizzard Entertainment had announced a streaming of World of Warcraft: Shadowlands for June 9, but like most video game events, the company has decided to put the brakes on and give the floor to “more important voices.” The United States lives in a climate of protests that have erupted after the murder of George Floyd by various police officers. In this situation, large companies in the industry have positioned themselves against racism, Blizzard among them.
The delay has been announced through the official World of Warcraft Twitter account. “There are voices more important than ours that must be heard. It is time to listen ”, they comment. “We are postponing our live streaming of World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, scheduled for June 9, so we will provide more details on the expansion in the future.” So, no new date has been announced yet, so we’ll have to wait until Blizzard finds the ideal time.
More important voices than ours need to be heard, and now is the time to listen.
We are postponing our upcoming World of Warcraft: Shadowlands livestream planned for June 9, and will share more details about the expansion in the future.

A schedule riddled with delays
Many of the digital events that arose after the cancellation of E3 2020 due to the coronavirus have been affected by events in the United States. In fact, practically everyone has decided to postpone their date. At FreeGameTips we have prepared a complete calendar with the events and their updated dates, which you can consult at this link.
Blizzard’s parent company Activision soon supported the Black Lives Matter movement. In fact, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone incorporate messages within the video game itself. Other companies that have joined have been Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft, as well as third parties such as Ubisoft, EA, Riot Games, Warner Bros, Rockstar Games, CD Projekt RED and many more. All of them have taken advantage of this to point out the importance of the most disadvantaged voices being heard in a country where racism against the African American and black community is systemic.
