PS5 event: Dead Space writer recommends watching the June 11 event

Antony Johnston says that he has been working on a new video game for two years. He recommends that we watch the presentation of PlayStation 5.

Antony Johnston, original writer of Dead Space, has assured in his personal Twitter account that he has spent almost two years working on the script for a new video game and that he recommends everyone to see the PS5 presentation event that will take place this Thursday, June 11, at 22:00 (CEST) to see the first games on the console.

Thursday, June 11 at 10:00 p.m. (CEST), first PS5 games

“As some of you know, I’ve been working on a great video game for almost two years,” begins the 47-year-old novelist born in Birmingham, England. “In other totally unrelated news,” he continues wryly, “you should see the PS5 event this Thursday,” he concludes, gesturing a moji with a monocle to reinforce his latest exposure.

The career of Antony Johnston, who has notable works such as Wasteland or The Coldest City, has in turn a close relationship with Electronic Arts, where in 2008 he signed what is for many one of the best survival horror stories in the past generation, the aforementioned Dead Space (PS3, Xbox 360 and PC).

This message only confirms that the PS5 game presentation event will arrive loaded with news, but it is rash right now to point out that Johnston is bringing forward a possible new Dead Space because there are no indications for it; in fact, Electronic Arts has not suggested it either. EA will have its own event on June 18, the so-called EA Play Live.

In any case, the Dead Space saga has had several installments to date within the main series. Dead Space 2 arrived on the same platforms in January 2001, while what is now the last iteration of the series, Dead Space 3, was released in February 2013 as a direct sequel by Visceral Games, just like the second. Whether or not Dead Space 4 will be a reality is something we may know in just a few days.

The PS5 event can be followed live on FreeGameTips from 22:00 (CEST) this Thursday in 1080p and 30 FPS, a lower resolution than expected, but Sony has explained it. After the event, we will be able to see everything on YouTube in 4K resolution.
