After a delay of several months, the new version of this shooter with Cell-Shading aesthetics will be released with a new look.
More than a decade after its arrival on the market, XIII is preparing to return with a version revamped on current platforms. Although it has not been officially confirmed, Amazon Spain has leaked the release date of the title, which will be published in this country through Meridiem Games. According to this store, the game will be published on November 10, that is, one year after the initially scheduled date.
FreeGameTips has contacted Meridiem Games, but the distributor has declined to comment: “We did not comment on rumors or speculation,” they say. The store has also leaked the limited edition, which will include a copy of the game, a metal box, three sheets and a set of weapons skins, Golden XIII Weapons. The Nintendo Switch version will be priced at 49.99 euros.
Without identity or memories
XIII is a remake of the game published in 2003, in which the player puts himself in the shoes of a man with no identity. The title, in its single-player mode, incorporates numerous twists of script and is set in the self-titled comic. At the design level, a completely reimagined flat shading has been added.
The country has not recovered from the assassination of President Sheridan. Our protagonist will wake up wounded and without memory on a deserted beach, so he must follow the clues and discover who he is and what has happened to him. What is clear is that his abilities make him a soldier trained to kill.
When Microids and PlayMagic, responsible for the project, confirmed the delay, they revealed that they had made those decisions to improve the product to the maximum. “This additional development time is necessary to reach the level of quality that we seek and to update this cult game to a modern audience; simply announcing the remake has already created quite a stir, ”they explained.
XIII will be released on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
